It was gloomy the whole day today and that's just cause it's monsoon here

I wonder how the English tolerate that sort of weather for a lifetime

I suppose the other things make up for it.

Do you think Canada will have similar gloomy-ish weather ?
Nomad7 · 22-25, M
@MasterofNone Depends on which part of Canada we're talking about. Vancouver has moderate weather and some rainfall, Toronto experiences hot summers and cold winters which are still more bearable than other countries and the rest of Canada is an icebox

And the winters in Canada are very long, pretty much like Scandinavia

@MasterofNone Lol, what do you like about England that you'd be willing to tolerate this weather for?
MasterofNone · 26-30, M
@Nomad7 Ummm...IDK. Whichever part you will be going to. They had a saying in Chicago that they experience two weather types - winter, and construction. I assumed, Canada being on the North might face similar stuff.

@MasterofNone Weird, I heard the exact same thing about Canada

@Nomad7 For me personally I love gloomy weather. For them, I thought I had heard some Brit say once that the "other things" make up for the weather. I never questioned what they meant.

@MasterofNone It's the most overrated country in the world. They say that the country that has one eye on the past is wise. The one with both eyes on the past is blind. That's what England is, unfortunately

I have a few friends who want to go study there for their Master's and I don't know why

@Nomad7 That sounds like what Peter Thiel said about the whole of Europe. What countries do you think are better places for Master's ?
