I don't drink because I've seen a negative family history with alcohol and know I'd become an addict if I ever did

But it seems like when most people want to hang out/socialize/bond, they do so over a drink. I don't want to miss out on that but I know that I never want to try to get drunk

It only takes a little effort to allot yourself just one drink, then switch to coca cola or water. What have you to lose to give that a shot?
@HurtMe That’s what I do, but not everyone in my family can. My youngest sister can’t even have one drink. My brother and mother don’t touch alcohol, they consider it too much of a risk.

@bijouxbroussard Ah, I see. Bravo to your brother and mother for recognizing it. It is likely that your sister will one day be like your mom and bro there too. Though do not take my word for it, lol.
