What does it mean if I ask a professor to clarify a few points from his lecture on a day when he's free, and he answers with "later today"?

He works at different offices throughout the town and he had a meeting scheduled for today evening. What does he mean by that??? Can't he be more specific?
I asked him the location and time, he didn't reply. It's been 2 hours and it's already the afternoon....

Sounds like he’s busy and doesn’t know when he’s going to be free.

@bijouxbroussard Well then don't say "today". I mentioned "on a day that you're free" in my text to him.
@turningthekeys Of course only he could say for certain, but perhaps his initial intention was to try and fit you in today.

@turningthekeys true. I guess you can keep asking till you get a final answer.or you can visit the tutoring center.
