I've been blocked

Not for the first time my reply to someone's provocative post has been blocked for no reason, other than the OP didn't like the opposite view. The subject was about religion. If you are going to post something that can get strong feelings about on an open forum, you [b]have [/b]to expect replies, both supportive and opposing....

What's interesting to me is that I am a Christian and I am block by other Christians for questioning their posts. Seems I have more positive discussions with non-believers.

@chrisCA I agree. I get discouraged with people who proselytize and condemn others for believing differently. Believing is a personal journey and no one knows another's heart. Throwing out pieces scripture to someone who does not believe in the Bible is just like breathing stale air.

@chrisCA you can not be a Christian if you believe in "false gods" . I am a Christian and I believe only in the bible and its teachings. Others can believe as they wish. Where I draw the line is when others try to divert me from my faith. That is offensive, and on here block worthy.

Have a hunch it was the guy I blocked.

This site does not follow "British culture" ... it follows the American Free Speech model

Britains have the whole "shout at one another in pubs and Parliment" down ... it is cultural to have a duty to listen to anothers viewpoint then agree to disagree.

The American Free Speech model is anybody can talk all they want ... frequently and loudly

But nobody needs to feel the slightest obligation or duty to listen.

Thus people block at the slightest level of disinterest.

This has been a wake up for the Yahoo people .... they join, people welcome them, they write something offensive and the mute/blocks go into action.

And they are writing to a fraction of the available audience (due to the newsfeed algorithm)

Do not feel bad you are blocked ... I am sure what you wrote was heartfelt.

religion and politics are kind the same. ive gotten blocked a lot of this site and only being here for maybe a couple of months just over politics.

@chrisCA thats what i always say, since i dont follow political idiologies that today's world with religion on decline, politics filled that void for people and it became their belonging.

I agree what you're saying, but I think at the end, what should be added is, "...you HAVE to expect replies, both supportiave and opposing ....as well as getting muted and blocked".
