I think the local pharmacy might not understand "sales"

Something caught my eye. You can get a three bar pack of soap for $2.99, or a six bar pack for $6.99. What a bargain... Then I saw more of this nonsense throughout the store. Think they need a new manager.

It is not targeted for volume sales. Such schemes are intended to attract the potential customers to buy small quantities to try the product. The company must be looking to increase its customer base by attracting the potential customers, and not for increasing the sales volume right now. They might target the volume sales later when they think they have created a good customer base.

This pricing structure makes customer think that it's cheaper to buy small quantity instead of large quantities. That's what they want to trick the new customer into thinking, as they are less likely to invest more money on a product that they have never tried before.

Old customer can buy more number of small quantities. The larger packages are actually meant for comparison, and definitely for less aware old customers.
