I CHALLENGE YOU TODAY...

I'd like to share a thought or two about "words".

* What is spoken, what is written and HOW ETERNAL they really are.

? Do you remember what was said to you or written to you, bringing great joy to your heart??
? How about the words that were messengers of sadness and despair?
Of course you do, they were words that MEANT something to you; either of joy or hopelessness.

I CHALLENGE you today: TO THINK before you type the next word into SW.
KNOW that your word, might mean life or death to someone
and their words could mean the same to you!
Speak kindly. Speak thoughtfully and above all,
UNDERSTAND that the word has power for life or death.

“The moving finger writes; and, having writ, moves on:
nor all thy piety nor wit shall lure it back to cancel half a line,
nor all thy tears wash out a word of it.
-- Omar Khayyam

Notice; the moving finger moves on but the words remain...NOTHING, not piety, wit or tears
will be able to CHANGE THE WORDS that it has written.
WORDS don't just "hurt", they can maim and kill, they can encourage and give power.
HAVE YOU thought of what you are saying to other SW members today.
Have you given any thought to even speaking out "generalizations" that you really know nothing about, does NOTHING but perpetuate a mentality that permits treating other human beings than less than human? Are you guilty of killing others with your words? When will you STOP?
I absolutely adore this post and its sentiments touch me on many levels and I've experienced both; the power of good and evil. The quote actually brought a tear to my eye and a bittersweet ache to my heart. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom and light 🙏 💕🤗

If you don’t have something good to say, don’t say it. Just keep it to yourself.
@LunarOrbit You are so right!!!! And kind...and thoughtful and SMART.

@MsAlaineEYes Nooooo. I’m old, mindful, and made countless mistakes which some people refer to as experience. :)

Thank you for the smile.
@LunarOrbit thank you for returning it.
You're quite good at sending out a powerful and important life skill.😉💕 Keep preachin' to the pulpit.🙏
@MoonlightLullaby Thank you friend...it's hard to be a rainbow in a black and white world with colorblind people telling you, "you're not a rainbow". Gotta keep talking. Gotta keep loving, even when it's hard...thanks again.
@MsAlaineEYes 🌈 God moves us in ways that aren't always understood, or even realized at that very moment. You never know how many eyes you're actually reaching just because they chose to be silent. Keep on being a beautiful rainbow in an oddly disturbing, all too often monochrome place called life. Be the technicolor magic!
