A guy at work who I spent up to 20 consecutive minutes within 6 feet of with masks down had a positive covid test today

By all rights, I should be off work and quarantining because of my significant exposure to him in the last 3 days. But my boss is refusing to look at cameras and I don't want to suggest I quarantine because she'll think I'm raising a stink to get out of work. So... Guess I'm working unless I start to feel sick.

What state are you in? I can check your rights in this situation if you want.

@CountScrofula she's supposed to look at cameras and see if anyone spent 10 consecutive minutes within 6 feet of him, make them quarantine, and have a crew come to clean the store.

She isn't because 2 weeks ago another guy tested positive and our kitchen manager threw a stink about how exposed he was and said he was going to quarantine whether she liked it or not, then he was spotted all around town and in the mall with his best friend (who also works with us). His best friend then "thought he had strep" and quarantined while getting the 3 day covid test (because he "doesn't trust the rapid test") and they were both spotted together multiple times... Super obvious they both just wanted off work.

@ForeverOnMyGuard Who gives a shit what she thinks. That sounds like her problem. The law is the law. Does she think its BETTER for you to potentially infect the entire place with covid?

@CountScrofula idk man

@ForeverOnMyGuard I promise I'm an expert on this.

That said your boss could come at you if you defy her but like - forcing people to work after covid exposure is unbelievably shitty.

@CountScrofula I can't say I disagree
