@uncleshawn I get that. And there is truth in what you say. There are underlying reasons where grandiosity comes from....but all I am saying it that sometimes ..once in a while we might write off someone appearing delusional when they just see differently. Because we get used to writing off people when we begin to label them.

@SW-User well of course there’s value in everything if you’re willing to sacrifice time to research but we’re talking about a significant portion of your time here. If I scroll through my feed,it’s about 15-20 post per hour. 99% of those are absolutely mindless. 😐

@SW-User Seriously, you are right. For example, in science (which is a sacred cow), obviously incorrect or weak ideas are defended for a long time because of pride and other reasons, and the people with new, better and correct ideas are mocked as crazy.

@SW-User This is funny....because it's true. At least we can joke about the truth of it. (But it's sad, too. There are a lot of people who seriously need help here who are coddled and urged on.)

@uncleshawn I love listening to people who don't conform with 'normal'. They usually have very interesting perspectives that are less tainted by the collective. I'm of course not talking of the 'mindless nattering'.

@SW-User That's true too. I have identified a couple people here who almost exclusively goofball around but are obviously way more intelligent and knowledgable than the average user here. They aren't going to waste their time trying to have an intelligent conversation with goofballs, especially goofballs who think they are geniuses.

And that points out another danger here.... Some truly intelligent and deep people get so fed up with goofballness and lack of depth that they just begin to use people and the world as playthings, just don't care about anything any more.

@uncleshawn I suppose a few factors would decide which way a person feeling that level of hollowness would go.
Some go towards a quest of finding themselves, their purpose and find meaningful ways to express their intelligence in more fulfilling ways. I would hope there are more of such than the disturbed kind.

@SW-User I think I can say with a high degree of confidence (99.9%) that truly insightful people who don't conform to 'normal' and have useful things to offers of real value are much more likely to be found in numerous places other than SW. The typical 'not conform' here are users who think using naughty words makes them so amazingly individualistic and unique.
