I will share the reasons why you should avoid visiting Mathabhanga if you ever plan to visit it.

Mathabhanga is town in Northern part of West Bengal about 30 km from Falakata. You should avoid it because
1) Mathabhanga can feel eerie after dark because there aren't much lights in houses to avoid high electricity bills and also the only light you find are from small shops and hotels around.
2) My uncle said Mathabhanga has many murder and homicide cases recently.
3) Being close to Bangladesh border, Mathabhanga has lots of immigrants from Bangladesh and my uncle said you can get your stuffs stolen at night. My uncle said that bicycles and scooters often get stolen there.
4) The name Mathabhanga itself would make you feel uncomfortable because it means broken head in Bengali.
5) There aren't much street lights there so nights can be scary.
6) Unlike Falakata which full of life even after dark, the market of Mathabhanga is usually quiet after dark.
7) Mathabhanga doesn't have much places to visit unlike Falakata which has lots of places.
