No, The Federal Government should never be under the control of a State, that is why the US Capital is set up the way it is.

No. It is unconstitutional. The Constitution requires the seat of government be a federal district, not a state. The residential sections of Washington could be retroceded to Maryland, as Arlington was retroceded to Virginia in the 1830s, but that is all.

Why not give all but the core capital area back to Maryland and Virginia and then there is no problem, DC is then just the capital and not part of any state. They've already done it with a piece of the orginial area.

There's a reason some people want it to be represented now
