Why do people say that if you're 25 or older and still single something is wrong with you?

I see people that age and in relationships and still have a lot wrong with them.

It is a nonsense statement. There are a lot of people of all ages in relationships who should not be in them. Also, being in a relationship is not a sign that everything is alright with you.
