Of course I've watched Judy for decades but I tire of her well- aimed little barbs after awhile. I really enjoy Judge Marilyn who's expressions and funny asides often have me rolling.

I used to love Judge Joe Brown but some of those cases, (disgusting apt. tenents) made me nauseated.

Any comments?

Judge Wapner The People's Court
@SethGreene531 I remember him from the early 80's, a sweet guy.
@Grateful4you Me too. He had a heart, knew how to balance justice with humanity.
@SethGreene531 Nicely said. I guess you know, Judge Marilyn re-hired the emcee Doug Lewellen who makes the little ironic quips as the participants exit the court.
@Grateful4you thanks.☺️
The guy outside was in poor taste, and made a mockery of any proceeding. I haven't caught her show for a while and wasn't aware, but wrong decision.
Wopner didn't do that. It had class.
@SethGreene531 I do like Marilyn but made the same exact observation about Harvey Levin he does make some untoward remarks. I'm a huge John Grisham fan so if I can't find a blockbuster courtroom drama, T.V court has to be my cheap thrill lol.
@Grateful4you She definitely doesn't pull any punches. I guess I just opt for Judge Judy's style over hers. They're both very shrewd though, and fair.

Harvey Levin, isn't that the tacky entertainment show host TMZ. Explains everything. Yes, Harvey has that about him.

Can't go wrong with Grisham. I usually get my fix from an old Law and Order with Jerry Orbach. There's also the true crime series as well now, profiles of serial con artists, killers, cold case files.
@SethGreene531 TMZ and Harvey does ring a bell. I guess I've become overly sensitized to all the hatred and negativity these days to be amused much by Judy's insults and barbs. I forgot all about Law and Order so thanks for a heads up, might have to catch that later.
@Grateful4you Judy has that about her, Marilyn doesn't get personal or abusive. In these times it's a bit hard to take.

For sure, Law and Order always hits the spot. Check out also
Ioan Gruffudd in Harrow, or Johnny Lee Miller in Elementary, or Blue Bloods. Not as much court room drama, but still crime.

Harrow

@SethGreene531 I will note all three. Are they series? if so, where? I mostly do YouTube, Netflix and sometimes hulu. Thanks so much for the suggestions. I'm looking forward to Jodie Foster in the "Mauritanian" but not sure I want to spend twenty bucks to rent unless really worthwhile.

I'm the only one I know who actually clicks his heels if summons for jury duty. P)people roll their eyes at me. lol
@Grateful4you 3 independent series.

'Elementary' - is a modern take of Sherlock and Watson in present day NYC fighting crime and Moriarty.

Amazon Prime; Hulu it seems.

Harrow - Amazon Prime; Hulu - Was available, may still.
Also look for his previous show, similar, 'Forever'

Prodigal Son - Michael Sheen HBO Max

Blue Bloods - likely anywhere - current cable tv drama

Youtube is hit and miss.

The Mauritanian looks fantastic. She is a solid lead in anything.

Jury duty, yes I'm not a fan though it's our civic duty. That's funny.
@SethGreene531 She sure is plus I highly respect her personal beliefs. You have given me some great many days of quiet diversion, especially since a dear friend is acutely ill I need to focus on other things. You sound like a really great kind of guy. A rare bird these days.
@Grateful4you Yes, she is a fine human being.
I hope the series work out. Some I've seen, some came recommended from others to me.

Very sorry to know they're ill. That's a time of trial and growth you both will go through. He needs your strength, and you his. Lean on each other. I will be praying for you both.

Pray tell it's not your partner that's ailing is it? That is one of life's soul rending ordeals, to watch a love suffer.

Kind of you to say. Thank you. Though, I've bided my time, I finally found a woman who appreciates just those very things in her mate. Life came through in the end for me!
I do hope your friend or partner can rally, and likewise life grants you, your second chance together also.

All the best.
@SethGreene531 Actually, he is a she. I live in a senior retirement community. Teresa is a sweet lady, very simple and has an almost childlike innocence Kevin and I have found quite charming. She has no friends here so we kind of adopted her and before her (two strokes) came daily for morning coffee, an hour or so chat, then again in the evening to have dinner with us.

Teresa essentially has become a part of our family6, Kevin and I and our two cat's.
She does have a sister nearby who really appreciates us and has been keeping me informed of her medical status.

Kevin is 20 years younger than I, (just happened that way) we are together now over 20 years. He enjoys helping many of the elders here and has such an open heart and outgoing friendly affect they simply adore him.

So glad you're in such an appreciative and loving situation as well it really means so much to keep that balance you spoke of intact. Nice we made this connection and hope to keep in touch. I'm only here a few times a month but will likey be here several days this month.

My name is David. Would love to add you sir! 😄
@Grateful4you Through your care and compassion, you are a blessing in Teresa's life. There are so many similarly destitute souls. Thank the Lord for people like you and Kevin. And that His timing placed you together with Teresa at the retirement community.

No doubt her sister is reassured by your presence there. An anchor in Teresa's life when family cannot attend.
I'm pleased to know they keep you and Kevin in the loop. You're dear friends critical to her survival.

It is not often we see a reflection of ourselves in another. A mirror image of the soul that thrives within our own hearts. In Kevin you've found a soul mate, and dear human being. Now united in purpose, returning the peace and joy life has given you, to every one you encounter.
I'm very happy for you.

Pleasure to meet you David, my name as you've already guessed, is Seth.

Talk soon.
@SethGreene531 Thank you Seth. I appreciate the generous things you said. We aren't doing anything really special. Like I told her sister today, "Every time Teresa steps into our apartment it brings a little light in. We enjoy her for who she is and the joy she gives us is the gift she brings.

She has a great sense of humor, comes to the door and announces "Here I am your pain in the head" I emphatically say, " But you aren't a pain in the head Teresa, more like a pain in the ass" and we all laugh at our shared silliness.

I just want her home Seth. It just hurts knowing she is laying there, unresponsive at this point. I hate to think of her suffering. I should sleep soon but need to calm down a bit first.
@Grateful4you Absolutely.

I'm so very sorry you have to watch a friend suffer, powerless to intervene.
Know that she remembered you as the souls who brought light into her life, and for that she's forever grateful.

Celebrate the memory of who she was. All of the joy she brought into your lives, that made your's a happy home.
Warm and spirited, with a great sense of humor, it was a privilege knowing her.

Take some small comfort in the hope she may rally yet.
There is rehabilitation at times after stroke, even a major event. People make remarkable comebacks, even though they may only be a shadow of who they were.

Our family is praying for peace and strength for you this morning.
And that by God's grace, you see small but distinct improvements in her condition.

God bless. Rest well.🙏
