Women want men who can protect them - make them feel safe, physically, emotionally & financially - that's always been our downfall as Black men.

We can't even protect ourselves in this country.

Some black folks do exceptionally well. You’re kinda shitting on their success right now no?

@SW-User yeah that's why i can't stand the victim mentality
REMsleep · 41-45, F
@SW-User You guys dont get it. Its not a victim mentality. Also the success of some dosen't mean that others don't suffer undue discrimination.
Just because there are rich people does this mean that all poor people are getting what they deserve because they should have " worked harder"?
The illogical conclusions are un freakin real.
I have heard countless wealthy successful black people describe discrimination and racial profiling and how they had to work 10 times harder. There is alot of bias and prejudice and its stupid not to acknowledge this.
Why is this hard?
Every time anyone speaks of a problem every one claims its victim mentality.
How dumb
SW-User
@REMsleep the difference is that some don’t let this bullshit bring them down. They get out there and succeed anyway. Even if they have to work 10 times as hard. That’s what giving the finger to a flawed system is. Not crying about it and making excuses

@SW-User Watching your people get killed in the streets in your home country dubbed as one of the safest on earth is sickening and infuriating.
I work 60+ hours per week and make well over 6 figures.
My mom the same. My uncle the same.
I came from poverty. No electricity, walked to the grocery store one day with 1 dollar as a family and God left a full basket of everything that we eat in the parking lot and we waited and waited and could not find the owner of that food so we ate it all.
I have been so blessed but I have worked so hard too.
The truth is not a luxury to me its the only way that I can afford to live.
You don't understand because you are not sick and tired.
Its not you.

@REMsleep how is anything you said related to skin colour though. You think everyone else is born with a silver spoon and never had to make sacrifices? Is that it?
REMsleep · 41-45, F
@SW-User You're putting so many words in my mouth I don't even know who you are having a conversation with cause it sure as hell aint me
SW-User
@REMsleep what do you mean? It was a simple question. A white/hispanic/Asian family arrives in the state. You don’t think there will be fight for success? Without speaking the language at all?
REMsleep · 41-45, F
@SW-User The only reason that I mentioned my success at all was to illustrate to you that I am not a person that has used my race as a barrier to success that's the only reason. Since you indicated that the main people complaining are the ones who use it as some sort of excuse.
Life is hard for everyone and I just don't understand why you are even bringing that up because thats not what this conversation is about.
Its not a competition and thats not what people are saying.
Its so hard to understand why anyone would take the conversation there

@REMsleep my comment was about success within the black community. Some will make it ,some don’t. Money doesn’t equal success btw. It’s just easier to complain and give up. Maybe American born people have more chances of success if they are white. If their ancestors paved the way. But that doesn’t mean black people have to give up because they’re black. If you’re coming from the depths of the ocean and succeed, that’s something future generations can build up on. Whining doesn’t do anything. You want pity success? Pity money? Sorrow? Those will fade.

@SW-User Are you ignoring the fact that we live in a country where police are able to lawfully harass black men - pull them over for no crime. Stop and frisk still exist in several U.S. States - authorizing police officers to stop and harass black men without retribution. The data does not lie. Blacks are twice as likely as whites to be stopped by police and twice as likely to be searched. Black men are 3 times as likely to be convicted of a crime than white men.

Despite the success of a fragment of the Africa American population, there exist a high degree of polarity between the incomes of whites and blacks. 90% of Blacks are still living paycheck to paycheck - in addition to the unemployment rate of blacks remaining at nearly double that of Whites. Aside from the wealth gap, black men have little political power and no real influence in government.

@SW-User Caucasians hold - and have always held all the cards - politically and economically. Preceding the Jim Crow Era, long afterward and even now, laws have been structured in a way that promotes conformity or failure - assimilate or remain at the bottom. You call this economic system a free market, but who regulates it? And how can it be a free market if it's regulated? All of the barriers that exist in today's market exist for one reason - to dissuade and avert low income individuals - especially blacks - from creating wealth - and keep them dependent upon a white-controlled government.

@LoveTriumphsOverHate i came from Europe with nothing. I get frowned upon because of my acccent a d such. Nothing to do with skin colour man... i had to fight only for people to make me feel equal.people like to feel superior. It’s not race related.
