There's nothing hidden from God. Satan's actions proved he was out to take over God's position and throne. He made that choice on his own. The bible says he is nothing but evil. He wasn't made that way...he made a choice to be rebellious. He gathered a slew of other angels to join him in rebellion against God and went to war against God.
God gave us all a conscience, so we'll be aware of Him, and know right from wrong. God is only in one's soul, as you put it, when we accept Him as Lord and Savior. It is [u]then[/u] that the Holy Spirit dwells in us and creates in us a new heart and Spirit.
We have the free will to either listen to God or Satan's suggestions.
