@Crazywaterspring I am fielding queries from a few Americans approaching retirement looking to travel here. I suggest you look carefully at what benefits are transferable to your planned destination. Pensions, health and unsurance cover and other matters.. 😷

@whowasthatmaskedman There are thousands of Americans retired there. Dollar accounts pay good interest and the government has a special retiree visa program. And they have a form of national healthcare.

My kid attended grad school in St Louis. Missouri is quite racist.

@OldMan70 What are you basing your choices of states on ? The way you were personally treated ? Missouri and Virginia are at best, catch as catch can. And my parents chose California to escape southern racism as an interracial couple. It depends a lot on where you live here.

@Crazywaterspring I follow a number of Ex.pats living in Mexico. Most will tell you they wouldn't dream of ever returning on a permanent basis. I'm seriously thinking of going myself. I can't really afford Canada and I love the idea of being near the ocean. I sincerely think you should consider this as an option. Good luck!
