Any mechanics out there?

My car is making a thumping noise when I first start it in the morning. Then it doesn't do it when the car is warmed up. But if I start it again after it's been sitting awhile it does it again. If I take it to a repair place, they won't hear it because te car will already be warmed up when I get there. What should I do? 😩

First, make an audio/video recording of it when you start it cold... to play it for the repair shop.. that’s if the sound can get captured and is that prevalent.
Is it still under warranty?
How’s the oil level? Do you use synthetic oil?
