We need a comedy show like “All in the Family” that has a bigot like Archie Bunker that shames racists to hide again. It was incredibly powerful to drive that stupidity underground since bigotry was so easy to make fun of and not hidden by chants of USA USA USA like at a wrasslin match.

@Pfuzylogic You make a valid point but the only thing that can eradicate bigotry is education. Driving them back underground doesn't help, they just remain hidden they don't go away. One need only listen to the more radical ones to see and hear how uneducated most of them sound and are.

@spjennifer When I say drive underground I pretty much mean that they won’t state their bigoted views publicly.

@Pfuzylogic Oh I remember old Archie well and it did indeed expose bigots for what they truly are, shameful. Unfortunately, they didn't get the basic premise of the show, they were probably too busy chanting USA USA and RIGHT ON Archie!

That could very well be true but it definitely helped me in my attitudes against racism and what I taught my children. I still believe that the show was elemental in empowering the Civil Rights legislation of 1964 & 1965. I feel that this legislation has been attacked during the trump administration.

@Pfuzylogic You are right of course and I hope it helped to shape others thoughts too but you are a little ahead of things, All In The Family aired from 1971 onward so while it helped to show why the Legislation was necessary, it did little to change the minds of those who didn't want to see it that way and still don't, they just laughed right along with Archie and agreed with him.

@Pfuzylogic I think you may be ascribing duhDonald with more intelligence than he has, he is a tool and was used as such by those more insidious factions who want to push their agenda. He is/was a popular media figure and they liked that and used it. He was too stupid and narcissistic to even realize he was being used.

His rallies has always been about sedition. That was obvious to me in 2015 before his first election. It is almost like, if you can excuse the expression, a zit that needed released. We have now seen the impact of this infection. Hopefully it isn’t too late for more serious riots later on.
