I'm terrified....

Yesterday was a scary day. I almost got beaten up by street thugs after a violent fight with people I was talking to. Obviously scared for my life I ran to cops breathless who eventually got the violent guy arrested and shortly after the whole gang!

Now they know it was me tho and once released I'm scared they'll come back for me 😞 I'm also the ONLY one to stand up against the whole group of street thugs from the whole neighborhood.

@Ryannnnnn Yeah. I see what you mean. Weapon carrying of any kind is illegal here however being smart gives you ideas since these here tend to use less brains more muscle.

I got all round security in the home but you never know ..I've been reporting weird stuff for ages now. Only yesterday things got down to borderline disaster

do you have pepper spray/an equivalent or a way to obtain it ? if you do encounter them again it could give you a window to escape to a safer location

@NitorTNT No. This time I could run away. Only the pedestrian divided us at the confrontation site because I had crossed the road already. What the hell will you do Vs a huge guy and another waiting for you with a metal rod on the other side? - nothing except escape, since I could.

I grew up and lived in violent gang territory in Chicago, and that was probably one of my biggest fears until I got married and left.

@BlueVeins Most things are hollow to cops. Maybe I really shouldn't even joke about carrying a bat in this days and age the best thing for her to do is call the cops and record everything on her phone if she feels threatened.

@BlueVeins Personally for me it's a cover up to terrorise residents due to construction contractors. It's an observation but it seems acceptable. Does not change the fact you're really risking getting beaten up tho.

@Shipwrecked No. Weaponry is illegal but if it got to that I already swore I'd be sure to defend myself in any means possible.

@SW-User as Aussie, I strongly believe in a right to bare arms. Especially without sounding like a right wing bigot because I am a true blood centrist and believe in balance but pacific islands are being bought out by owing money to China which gives them leeway to make a check mate move on Australia and New Zealand, this ain’t bigotry, ‘this is a concerning possibility.
