What about young people did older generations complain about in the past?

A common one currently is kids never play outside anymore and I did..... Or some variation, there are many others that we should be familiar enough with that I don't need to rehash.

Of course this sort of thing is as old as time. Kids now are almost certain to do it when they get older. But what was the subject matter in the past??

For example, back in the 50s what was the awful thing about young people that the older folks couldn't handle? Was it like ”kids these days are always playing outdoors, when we were kids we worked outdoors!” would seem fitting for the time right?

And what about in 1900 and 1800? Or back during the Roman Empire! Was it like ”kids these days are always playing with mathematics, when we were kids our game was called killing barbarians!” or something idk... Sorry my creativity sucks today lol

So what specific things do you think past generations of elders complained about?

@lovelywarpedlemon imagine them meeting people now, they'd be begging the kids to only grease their hair lol. Music is a big one for sure!

Dancing made me think of foot loose 😂
@luvnsunshine exactly lol 🕺💃

Honestly I don't want to know, it was probably way worse for kids back then

Music. Imagine what it was like in the 20's when "flappers" started dancing to Jazz. 40's had Big Bands. Then there was the 50's when Elvis could not be filmed (on TV) from the waist down. Then I think it was the 80's when albums had warning labels placed on the cover.
