For those who use Ebay have you noticed this?

I have been noticing on Ebay that a lot of sellers are charging astronomical prices for shipping. I recently bought a pair of ski boots from some one on Mercari and the shipping was 18 dollars and they came from the East coast. I found a pair that are 3 states away and they want 40 dollars for shipping. Is it me or are they just trying to make more money on the item by charging so much shipping?

No, it is true. Shipping costs are going up but the real reason is we are being on the hook, making up for Amazons special shipping rates, a subsidy if you will?

On the 40 bucks, that could be a blatant steal!😊

I found something similar recently with a small item costing $80 then $45 for what they called express shipping, but there was no standard shipping rate available. Ebay need to enforce limits for shipping.

ebay doesnt include shipping fees in their auction/final value charges. yes the sellers have to pay ebay too to sell their stuff. so its a way to get around some of the auction/selling costs.
