Ahmed Deedat, a Prominent Islamic missionary once told a Christian evangelist during a debate, "if your Jesus was so powerful, he would mute me"

Not long thereafter, he suffered a stroke which left him paralysed from the neck down. He was unable to speak or swallow, and remained this way for 9 years until his death in 2005.

Sounds like a dumb thing for a Muslim to say considering we believe in Jesus too.

@HijabaDabbaDoo You're not a real Muslim
@LoveTriumphsOverHate Ok, you caught me

@LoveTriumphsOverHate and you don't seem to know much about Islam ...
@LoveTriumphsOverHate No - she is.
Muslims accept Jesus as a wise teacher of the word of god but not the messiah who saves mankind; for Muslims the messiah has yet to come.

In the Koran, Muhammad declares that Moses and Jesus are both prophets of God. He also says that Jews and Christians should be accepted because they are believers in the same God.

However it's true that, during his lifetime, Mohammed did go to war against a specific group of Jews. The reason was political and territorial but he did try to force them to convert to Islam. He won the war on strategy and numbers of warriors. They chose to allow themselves to be slaughtered (most of the women were enslaved) rather than convert.

90% of the teachings of the Koran are peaceful and loving and emphasise good ethics. 10% advocate war against the infidel - but as a last resort.
The Koran is full of repetitions and contradictions. Many of the Arabic words have multiple meanings, hence enormous ambiguity.
The accepted understanding among scholars and clerics is that since Allah is perfect and therefore could not have made a mistake, all possible interpretations are correct.
When asked how to deal with this, Mohammed advised that a believer should study, pray and consult his or her own conscience.
@hartfire Muslims accept Jesus as the messiah too. Just saying

@HijabaDabbaDoo I thought Muslims didn’t see Jesus as powerful as Christians do tho. To them, he didn’t walk on water and shit
@TurtlePink that miracle isn't mentioned in the Quran but it is in a hadith.
However, Muslims do believe that Jesus could awaken the dead, cure those born blind, amongst other miracles.

The only major difference is the belief that he is the son of God or God himself.

@TurtlePink Exactly, that's what she is failing to understand. Muslims don't see Jesus as one with God or believe in his resurrection from the dead.

It’s not even that. The chick is Muslim herself, I’m sure she knows more about Islam than you or I. I was born Muslim and even after I got adopted I was still kinda Muslim because my parents were cool and let me keep my religion. Keep in mind I was only 5 or so and lived in a white Christian area where there was no Muslims or a mosque for me to attend to and click with other Muslims to teach me about Islam , so after a while I grew apart from Islam and as I got older, I realized it was all bullshit. All religion is bullshit, I’m not knocking Islam or anything but it just wasn’t for me. @LoveTriumphsOverHate
