Her point is that fighting in places like Iraq and Vietnam really had nothing to do with domestic freedoms. I still respect Vets, but we do tend to exaggerate their importance when it comes to protecting the actual nation.

Well if you dont fright in far away places, then one day they will come to you, thats the point of sending troops in harms way, so the people back home can sleep safely

I don't think that is true all the time...especially not in Iraq or Vietnam. But your argument seems to prevail.
