We ae stuck with a two-party winner-takes-all system. It is very, very difficult for any third party to break into that exclusive club. I hope that changes someday, but I can't see how that will happen at this point.
However, The Democrats record is not all bad. Under Johnson the Voting Rights Act and the Civil Rights Act. Barack Obama was the U.S. first African-American president. And Biden choose an African-American woman as his VP.
That said, African-Americans should keep up the pressure on the Democrats to deliver on their promises. AA's are 20% of Democratic votes, they can't win an election without the black vote. That is some bargaining power.
