What is the most you have ever truly and selflessly sacrificed for someone else?

@MrPerditus1 it probably wouldn't have ended well between you two if you'd told her how you feel cause you were not her first choice. I'd have done the same thing if I was you

@Lichocolati Again, thank you so much. I agree with what you say and as I said, I wouldn't have been able to give her the life I felt she deserved. A lot of things with health stood in the way. But she was one of my best friends at that time. We've drifted apart, naturally. But still wish her the best.

@MrPerditus1 I'm glad you feel better. I didn't realize it affected you that much. I've been rejected a lot myself so I totally get it

@Lichocolati To be honest, the situation I brought up wasn't what was hitting me. I deal with a bit of depression for a few reasons and it was starting to hit me a little. Came on here to get distracted and well, you're comments really helped me get out of it.

I don't hurt so much for the love lost. It's been about 20 yrs since that happened and I am truly happy she's had the life with him. I think they're still together. I hope so.

@MrPerditus1 Oh that's a long time ey. I know depression so well. I suffered from it for many years. I used pot to numb it but when I was still depressed in my high state I knew it was time to stop and start praying and guess what it worked. I haven't been depressed since the year started. I do get anxious from time to time and I know with time it'll be gone for good. I'm here just to have someone to talk to other than my family cause there's some things I can't talk with them. They just wouldn't understand.

Are you married yourself?

@Lichocolati Believe me, I understand the need and want to connect with others outside of those closest. I came here, originally, for a place I could vent without fear of judgement or worse but have found some really wonderful friends here.

I'm glad you found something that has helped you through the depression. I'm still searching and fighting my fight and I know I'll get through it if for no other reason than I am stubborn as anything.

Married? No, I was married before my injury and before I met the woman I was talking about. I've been in a long term relationships, but haven't had anyone in my life for about 15 yrs now. My memory is a bit spotty so can't really remember when we parted ways. So at this time, I'm not with anyone, dating or otherwise. I just think I need to get better before I try that again. I did try online dating and that didn't work out well either.

You just got to change the way you think if you really want to get out. Think positive no matter how hard it gets. I'm in a wheelchair and I need things to improve my health but can't get them. I could be depressed about that but I choose to trust that God will see me through just like he's done in the past. I am stubborn myself 😅

Same as me. I felt I needed to get my shit together before thinking to date anyone.
