possession is a misguided form of affection and selfish/potentially incredibly toxic but i wouldn't say it's the opposite of love.

There are endless forms of love, many of them where the healthy and unhealthy are blurred together. I wouldn't say possession is the opposite, it's a very common aspect of love that can be very unhealthy
