@Thinkerbell I LOOOOVE this movie. Most people see it as a horror film. I like to see it as a tragic romance. Boy meets girl, girl ignores boy, boy shows her his love and jealous rival steps in. :P Okay, maybe not but still one of my favorites.

Yes, it's remarkable how many of these old movie creatures were very interested in human females. King Kong was another. 🤭

Robot Monster's very low budget did not allow for a robot costume as first intended, so Phil Tucker (the director) hired his friend George Barrows, who had made his own gorilla suit, to play Ro-Man; Tucker then added a space helmet similar to those used in Republic serials such as Radar Men From The Moon. The budget was something like $16,000 in 1953.
