Many men do not take responsibility for inseminating woman, but their lovers refer to them in those terms..

Slang unfortunately does happen. Has happened for millennia. It's why there are so many languages. Spanish, Portuguese, French, Romanian, Italian and even parts of English all originated from Latin. 🤷‍♂️

Heck even Spanish of Mexico is very different from the Spanish from Spain! Same Portuguese of Brazil is different from Portugal.

Yeah it sounds really dumb.. Sounds like the person has not had a proper English education.. Babydaddy 🤪 really?
It started with 'my babies daddy' and turned into 'baby daddy' ...its slang...

When you have more than one guy perhaps?

I agree. It comes from the like terms baby momma, etc. It is a borrowing from urban slang, it seems.

He's my baby's father. What's wrong with that sentence?
@SW-User That’s not what they say. They say “babydaddy” ..
