Do you feel comfortable sharing swimsuits? Like wearing someone else’s “extra” suit?

It’s funny, I got in trouble once, significantly, during a visit with my family to see friends in Santa Cruz. They had a pool and one of the daughters (we were 11) lent me her bathing suit so I could go swimming with them. My mother freaked out and told me to go get dressed. She later said “you don’t wear someone else’s bathing suit !” The fact that it was clean was of no consequence to her. Now I can see her side in terms of hygiene, but at the time I thought she was being silly.
