If a father has a son, and names him after himself one becomes Senior and one becomes Junior. Ex John Smith Jr or Joh Smith Senior) But what happens when the junior John smith has a son? Does he become a a senior AND a Junior?
I don't know if there is a correct answer. In my case, my father was John Smith, I was John Smith Junior, and my son was John Smith III. After my father passed away, I just dropped the Junior in all except formal legal documents. When my father was still with us, everyone called him Johnny, they called me Smitty, and my son John.
If the first, middle, and last name are the same, then the eldest is "senior", the next is "junior" and the youngest is "the third". (I.e., Joseph Thomas Wentworth III)
But, if you look at George Herbert Walker Bush and George W Bush, for example, the younger Bush is NOT "George Bush Jr", because the middle names are not the same.
