Do we really want what we say we want?
A dear friend of mine called me last night about an hour and a half after her normal bedtime, obviously wired.
She was widowed 20 years ago and often talks about how much she misses holding hands and hugs.
She called because SHE got a call from a man she's known for years, but she missed the call and he didn't leave a message. What should she DO?
I pointed out he might be selling tickets to a fund-raiser or, maybe, since he was widowed 7 months ago, he misses hugs and hand-holding too, and that she won't know if she doesn't call him back.
She has decided to just wait. If he doesn't call back, he wasn't really interested.
There are moments I just want to shake her till her teeth rattle.
