Why do some people expect you to be right mentally after being abused or having some type of traumatic experience?

That's impossible to pull off.

They've probably never had to deal with it themselves. Or if they have, they hide their trauma and expect you to do the same.

It is that way with all cognitive and emotional challenges. The injuries are not visible except through expressed dysfunctional behavior.
If you are able to get therapy you are fortunate but you won’t get sympathy.

I don't mind so long as the traumatized person doesn't use their past to excuse abusive behavior. But other than that, I agree that it's unfair to expect victims to magically feel better and live a normal life.
