I’ve got ceiling fans in 3 rooms & 3 other fans to use too. Also could go out to the sun room at night and sleep with the windows open if need be. If I couldn’t afford to get it replaced for awhile I’d buy a small window unit to use till I could. People were doing that in 2011 when we had a record-breaking hot summer. Walmart sold a bunch of small window units.

@cherokeepatti That's a lot Patti!

@Nimbus I have four fans in a studio unit apartnment, A small desk fan which has cone with me since I lived alone, a regulation ceiling fan, a twin fan which both exhales and intakes (or both together) and a pole fan which I hate and don't use since I got a neck sprain from a draft in the last heat wave from it. I have my windows open as often as I can, but they only crank so far.

@MaryJanine Wow, I would hate to see your electricity bill.
MaryJanine · 70-79, F
@Nimbus Would you like to pay it? Last month was $46.10. I am only responsible for my electric bill. The management pays heat and gas, taken from my rental bill. If I rent an A/C from them (which are always at a premium) there is an extra $50.00 a month tacked onto your rent payment.

@MaryJanine No thank you :)

Wow, AC is expensive.

@Nimbus If you rent it from manageement, yes,it is. But they go so fast, by the time you realize they are giving them out, they are gone. They only have so many anyhow - or you have to buy your own, which isn't cheap.
