New Zealand has gone 100 days without a single new Covid case. Nice work Kiwis👍🏻

So why are the rest of us so terrible at it?

@Laughoften Probably due to people like this:

Because their government got on with it quickly and decisively while everyone else did it half-arsed

It's an island, so many things are much easier to handle there.
Shame on Britain, which is also an island!
@helenS Our useless government watched Covid spread across China, then across Europe and did nothing. Even when it got here they did nothing.
They should be done for involuntary manslaughter IMO.

@FairyGirlGemma Your reply refers to the UK, right?
@helenS Yep
Amazing what competent leaders and governments can achieve...
Because too many people are focused on making it political and into a conspiracy. So nothing gets done, alot of steps are taken backwards instead of forwards. Because humans are ...well.. pretty dumb.

Being an island, not densely populated, and far from anywhere else in the world helps. That assuming their data are true.

In the uk we just get lied to...the figures don't add up , deaths are down to an average of 50 per day ....infections are supposed to be up but I don't believe them...no one I know or people they know, have been tested or even had symptoms ...the government are lying for some reason we will eventually find out...
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@Platinum how they should be reported everywhere
Platinum · M
The figures the government give us don't add up....they show around 300,000 as an infected figure every day 20,000 either way, it never changes as they must recover within two weeks and in that same two weeks we have about 22,000 new cases@MarineBob

A united front, efficient government and a sense of social responsibility.

@GayleM What a pleasant and productive mindset! And so different from what we observe in many other countries, unfortunately.

That's not quite right, they cocked it up by not making lockdown law, they should have closed the borders in March but they just told people to stay in and people ignored it and in march they were still going on holiday and people were still coming into uk without being tested...the government are responsible and so are those who flouted the rules...@FairyGirlGemma
