Do you believe that "once an addict, always an adict"?

I know from personal experience "once an addict, always an addict, maybe an addict who is not using but still an addict."

Good point

Nothing's ever always or never, but addiction is difficult to overcome and should be treated as a heath care issue, rather than a moral one.
I believe you can be clean and stay clean. But you don't get rid of that addiction entirely. You merely manage it well, or poorly.

I don't think there's any belief to it, I think it's pretty much science. although I'm a poor source of authority on the topic.

I know people who have overcome addictions, to some extent. But in that the struggle is often lifelong and constant, I suppose so.
