What is your experience with more sleep vs little sleep? And how did you acquire the more and how did you acquire the little?

I slept like shit for a few a years, mostly 2-3 hour blocks two or three times a night. I noticed that when I didn't go back to sleep after one block I'd be more energetic and well rested. And after doing that the past four-ish years my sleep in steadily improving. I get like 6 hours every night now B)
