@SW-User but people who can't cook claim "they can't boil water" which means it's difficult to do :)
DragonFruit · 61-69, M
My refrigerator's freezer has an automatic ice maker...I just leave it on.
To boil water, I have to add water to a pot and turn on the stove burner...which isn't hard, but it's a bit harder than basically doing nothing.

Which Hemisphere? Is Gordon Ramsey watching? Regular or heavy water?
JoeMW · 51-55, M
@SW-User Gordon Ramsey, on the equator with heavy water 😁
SW-User
@JoeMW In that case it is easier to freeze. Heavy Water has a freezing point of 3.9 degrees C, while regular water freezes at 0 C. So heavy water doesn't need to be cooled as much.

Boiling point of heavy water is 101.4 C and working under Gordan Ramsey's icy stare you are not getting there.

Making ice. Removing heat artificially is difficult without modern tools.
JoeMW · 51-55, M
@MartinTheFirst it's really amazing how much energy it takes to bring about a phase change for ice/water/steam
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@JoeMW 44kJ for water to ice
