@Elessar Wishful thinking for someone who doesn't want to make any effort. The truth is that no human can be good, for they're all sinners. If you don't have faith then you can't be forgiven.

@MartinTheFirst Maybe that's the case in your theology but what if you're wrong? How are you going to explain yourself to Odin at the doors to Valhalla?

But hypothetically if that was the case, then I wouldn't explain it, I'd die the same way any other false believer would.

@MartinTheFirst Assertion requires evidence, which no theist has ever been able to produce. I've no proof to believe your god is any more "true" than, say, Zeus, the flying spaghetti monster, or even the Russell's teapot. I grew in a Christian environment and quit it after realizing how toxic and countersensical it is, so don't attempt to indoctrinate me, it doesn't work, you're wasting your time.

Had the principle I stated above followed by most, the world now would be a much better place now, IMO. But I've nothing against it if you enjoy worshiping a religion in the name of which over the past 20 centuries all kind of genocides, manslaughters, wars and mass-torture has been perpetrated, I suppose. So long as you all respect my (Constitutional) right of staying as much far from it as possible, and that includes not throwing propaganda at me.

@Elessar Sure.. what I see as evidence you claim it is not. In the end it's up to you what you deem as evidence. And nearly everyone in the western world were brought up in a christian environment, yet many did not share the same "toxic experience" as you did. That's because toxicity depends on the humans personality, not the religion they practice.

My religion has only existed since the late 1800's, so I think not. Also I don't blame a religion for what the people do, that would be misdirected judgment.

@MartinTheFirst Evidence is not a matter of opinions, evidence is evidence. Observable through experimentation, objective, all features that the so called "evidence" theists bring up all the time don't have. Strangely enough, only the believers of a specific religion are able too see that kind of "evidence", for saying how hard it is.
