When you need support and you have no one, believe in God.
Sharon · F
@ABCDEF7 If you mean the christian god, I tried that but it didn't work. I had much more success with Odin.
ABCDEF7 · M
@Sharon I don't know much about Christian God that you are talking about, but I think God is a personal thing to you.
Sharon · F
@ABCDEF7 That makes a lot of sense.
ABCDEF7 · M
@Sharon Believe in that God, not what world tells you
ABCDEF7 · M
@Sharon I read some of your post/questions.

I feel there are two things, one is what you know, other is your beliefs. You believe only those things that you don't know, or don't have a way to know.

If you want your way by knowledge (by knowing), spirituality is the way for you. If you want to believe, there are many religions, choose the one whose practices you feel satisfied.

@ABCDEF7

No, I believe those things for which there is some evidence.

f you want your way by knowledge
That's called science.
ABCDEF7 · M
@Sharon When there's an evidence/proof there's no need believe, you know it by knowledge/science.

There are still many things that science don't have answers, like you yourself/soul/atman/consciousness
Sharon · F
@ABCDEF7 Science seeks answers based on evidence and doesn't mind admitting when it doesn't know. There's no need to make up fantasy figures to fill the gaps in our knowledge.
ABCDEF7 · M
@Sharon So why do you follow religion
Sharon · F
@ABCDEF7 I don't. What makes you think I do?
ABCDEF7 · M
@Sharon That's good, then why do you have problem with beliefs and religions. Let them believe and follow whatever they wish to.
Sharon · F
@ABCDEF7
why do you have problem with beliefs and religions.
I don't, I just object to certain religious zealots attempting to force their beliefs onto others and attempting to deceive them, particularly the weak and vulnerable.
ABCDEF7 · M
@Sharon I don't see all your questions are asked due to this concern
ABCDEF7 · M
@Sharon
I don't. What makes you think I do?

Your first reply to this thread.

If you mean the christian god, I tried that but it didn't work. I had much more success with Odin.
Sharon · F
@ABCDEF7 I attempt to expose their lies, so their potential victims have fair warning.
ABCDEF7 · M
@Sharon Why are you comparing science and beliefs, both are different. Religion is not science.

What success you got with Odin?
Sharon · F
@ABCDEF7 I find the idea of the Norse deities more comforting than the vengeful, narcissistic christian god.
ABCDEF7 · M
@Sharon Comforting? For what.
Sharon · F
@ABCDEF7 If there be an afterlife, I'd much prefer to spend it in Valhalla or Fólkvangr than the christian heaven.
ABCDEF7 · M
@Sharon Afterlife of whom? Who are you other than your body which is finished on death.
Sharon · F
@ABCDEF7 I agree, what's why is said 'IF'.
ABCDEF7 · M
@Sharon So, Is it that you think there is something that is real you(other than your body), but you aren't sure of that, so you used IF
Sharon · F
@ABCDEF7 No, I believe death is the end. I was just comparing the descriptions of the two places. It's no different from saying I would rather have attended Hogwart's than Malory Towers.
ABCDEF7 · M
@Sharon When death is the end, why is the thought of afterlife coming to your mind at all? Are you not sure & satisfied with what you are currently with?
Sharon · F
@ABCDEF7 Because the subject was raised in this thread. I thought that was obvious. I'm perfectly happy with what I have.
