What would you do with the power of a god?

By which I mean you have the power to mold new lifeforms into reality at your most powerful. Destroy planets and stars, sure. But you can also created planets and stars as well as entire species at any stage (animal, microbe, cavemen, civilization, etc.)

Would you destroy all that is and remake the world in your image? Create a new world from scratch to rival earth and humanity? Or just chill at home, changing the channel with a wink?

I would remove the capacity from humans to commit acts of evil...like war, killing, jealousy, envy, avarice, malice, corruption, greed etc

@Mandalorian Remove free will. I can dig it. But if we have no choice but to do good, can we really call ourselves good?
@RedwoodBarman I see your point, but if you aren't even aware of the existence of the evil choice...then there isn't really a removal of free will..

@Mandalorian True, but one could argue we can only recognize the good in contrast to the evil. Not to mention what's good to some is evil to others. Pick a history book and you can see it.

I'm not trying to make a point, sorry if I come off as such. I agree with everything you've said, thus far. I just like making people think.
@RedwoodBarman Oh I agree with you. I think the point is philosophical in nature...

...do we need a knowledge of evil to contrast with so we know what good is? Vs Having absolutely no understanding of, concept of, or ability to commit evil?

...In terms of what actually constitutes or defines evil? Well I guess sticking to the basics would do, but you did say the powers of a God so I guess you would also be able to decide with impunity and not be accountable over it...lol

@Mandalorian Well, with the power to literally destroy, create, and warp the very fabric of reality around you, you can easily state what's good and evil. But let's keep it at you're current morals and ethics for now. Just for convenience.

The thing about the dichotomy of good and evil is, currently, humans are the only species to identify it. A dog can identify when it's wronged, but it can't comprehend "evil" as we do. This is why I believe for our level of intelligence we do need a contrast to identify it.

The blind can't identify light because all they've known is darkness. The deaf can't identify loud or quiet because neither exists to them.

I'm not great with the words so I hope my argument is getting through.
@RedwoodBarman I understand your argument and agree, but your second last paragraph highlights my point exactly...

that a person cant identify evil because all they've ever known is good; evil does not exist to them, because they have no capacity to understand it or capacity to commit it...

...it simply doesnt exist to them
RedwoodBarman · 31-35, M
@Mandalorian Ah, I think I see then. You wouldn't remove their capacity of evil but their comprehension of it. Instead of a world with good vs evil, it's more like good vs not good.

Am I getting close?
@RedwoodBarman Sort of...more a world of "good" where there is no contrasting vs position, because the other is not possible as it doesnt exist on any level...

@Mandalorian I guess I can't comprehend such a world then. Thanks for the conversation. I'll likely think about this for a few days, actually.
@RedwoodBarman Cheers!👍
