Do you save at least one voice mail from every important person in your life?

In case they die? Or is that extremely morbid

No but I think it'd be better to just record a video of you and them together while they are alive

My sister lost her first boyfriend through death and she paid his phone credit for a while so she could hear his voice mail greeting over again.
I did of my maternal great and grandparents. But haven't listened since saving the voicemails.

I have old answering machine tapes, recordings of people who have passed. And damn...it’s sad to hear them talking, knowing they’re gone. But someday I will be too. My memories of them “lost in time like tears in the rain.”

It is something that has been observed since recorders existed.

Keep their voice forever, but you'll remember either way.
I did save one of my dad for a long time.

I would, but they don't call me.
