How do you politely turn someone down?

It's not easy, especially face to face, some people take things very badly and you don't want to be risking your safety.

Just say you're not interested in dating. If they still want to be friends they'll make that clear through their actions

I really like you... I do, just not like I think that you might like me. I am really flattered but I just don’t feel the same way, but I would truly love to be your friend, though, because you are really super awesome.

In my experience once that line is crossed, it’s hard to go back again. Usually doesn’t work.

Here’s a piece of advice. If you are turning them down, slowly cut them loose. Don’t stay friends, else they may retry and be annoying.

I'm no good at this kinda crap I would just straight up say something like "na I'm not interested in you like that but we can stay friends" not a good way to keep things smooth in the friendship I guess lol
