It actually helps explain why so many people are in denial of the evil that’s being exposed

@cherokeepatti What denial?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Nimbus denial of the sex trafficking crimes and politicians Involved etc. There are people who will shut down mentally when an attempt to explain it to them happens. They cannot deal with the fact that their beloved icons from a number of different institutions are involved

@cherokeepatti Perhaps the truth is painful?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Nimbus yes if a person puts people on pedestals they can’t stand to have anyone take them down. Tried to explain the Clintons to a 16 year old girl over 5 years ago when she was on fire for Hillary to become president. I didn’t lecture or anything and she was the one that brought it up thinking I would jump on her bandwagon. Told her my generation remembers things she and her husband were involved in and she wouldn’t hear it. Went silent and wouldn’t speak to me for 2 years

@cherokeepatti They say ignorance is bliss and this roves it.

@Nimbus and she moped around for a long time after the election too

@Nimbus that’s basically what the term “cognitive dissonance” means...it’s a psychology term that is used often when a person can’t be reasoned with even when facts are presented
