Allow me to have a quick rant, if you would?

The longer I spend away from relationships, the more I wonder why I ever cared about them in the first place. I suppose it's drilled into our heads from childhood through movies and shows, even from relatives. What I went through was horrific enough, but now it's less that the memory is skewing my image on relationships and more that I realize that they are a waste of time. At some point you'll never be that "special someone" and even if your partner claims it, they had god knows how many other "special someones" in their life. The "I only want you!" line has probably been used on more than a few people. I mean, if I just wanted to have casual encounters that's as easy as loading up an app. Cheaper, too. Maybe it's just modern society, where relationships are worth nothing more than temporary status and can be tossed away at a moment's notice. Perhaps we rush into everything, ignoring the fact that anything good takes time. Maybe we don't have enough standards for ourselves and never see the consequences down the line. Who knows.

Ignore this old aluminum can, just getting some thoughts out of the ol' noggin.

It's good to question where you are and what you're doing... Yesterday's dream may not be what you really need today... As Socrates said, the life lived unexamined is the life not worth living ...

@ozgirl512 It seems like we learn something new every day.

@WaafaS we do, and we're born anew each morning, a clean slate to write upon 🤗

@ozgirl512 Did Socrates really say anything....
Plato was credited with the quote, "An unexamined life is not worth living", Indeed, it comes from Plato's Apology, which is a recollection of the speech Socrates gave at his trial. Socrates is attributed with these words after choosing death rather than exile from Athens or a commitment to silence.
@KiwiBird it's either true or not, fact or beautiful lie ..🤗

@ozgirl512.....or a very nice quote to be remembered by before you are put to death...even if you didn't say it.

@KiwiBird exactly... The joys of hemlock!
