Are women and men treated differently?

You ever wonder how you'd be treated if you were the opposite?

Most of the time, I believe yes.
I think being treated equally (except by one's equals) is rare.

@hartfire i'd love to hear about anytimes you felt you were treated differently
@NoahB
1. As a child, the worst in inappropriate behaviour from my father.
(Can't risk causing offence by naming it.)
2. As a young woman, being followed and sexually harassed by strange men on the streets and in public transport every day travelling to and fro college or shopping. (I always dressed with total modesty.)
3. Rape
4. Violence and near murder from one boyfriend; I escaped.
5. Our head tutor declaring that all the females in our art class would never make it as sculptors because we would have kids and our priorities would chance, and so gallerists and buyers would not take punts on us.
6. Sexual harassment by bosses at workplaces, having to leave jobs because of it.
7. Finding it far easier to get jobs in teaching and aged care than in male dominated professions.
8. Nowadays, being treated with polite respect and men offering to carry my shopping or heavy items to the car for me.
9. On a daily basis throughout my life, men speaking to me about the fact of my being a woman - not seeing me as a person first, irrespective of my gender.
