I guess people would appreciate me more and wouldn't make unsolicited comments about my looks.

@NoahB That's because most men would automatically assume that a compliment was flirting or a come on. Girls learn very young that there are negative consequences for platonic praise.

@NoahB A lot of dudes also see it as "haha" instead of "this guy's creepy/intimidating af, I better leave"
