Why do conservatives get to have two parties?

It not very fair if you ask me. The democrats are just republicans from 10 years ago and the republicans are slowly morphing into a seething viper pit of fascists.

Republicans 10 years ago were still anti-choice, against universal healthcare, anti environment, anti-gun control, anti business regulation, so...nope.

@NoahB The platform hasn’t. There have always been conservative Democrats. Some, but not all jumped ship when more blacks joined the party during the Civil Rights era (Strom Thurmond, for example); the GOP ran off the last of their liberals after Reagan.
