Can you live on $1000 a month ?

I am mortgage free but would still struggle to live on the pound equivalent of about £800 as I spend half that just on food.

@Nimbus Fresh fruit and vegetables are pretty expensive plus I like good cuts of meat , oh and that does include my beers and the odd bottle of wine
