What would you do if you saw a man assault his GF would you intervene?🤔

I feel physically sick,ive just witnessed a man assault his partner outside my house infront of their kids,both seem drunk and she is covered in blood,police were on the scene within minutes thankgod!

Oh wow that's awful.
I'd call the police but I wouldn't intervene because I'd get my arse kicked.
