There are many forums you can join to ask questions, pretty sure Parrot has one, but Debian forums will help too. People on the Linux forums are very helpful in my experience.

Once you get used to it, you'll probably like it. Just play with everything. It's not easy to accidentally kill Linux. If you haven't already, make sure you do an update first.
