Why don't people on the Internet call cigarettes "fags" like we do in real life?

@hippyjoe1955 It's illegal to use the word "fag" in a homosexual context. I know it is because I remember someone being fined £500 for saying it.

@BijouPleasurette Same over here. I have some friends from Scotland that call cigarettes fags. Most people here call them smokes.

@hippyjoe1955 I've heard them called that before.

@BijouPleasurette I think the problem we have in NA is we have no idea what a fagot is. I do but most people think it is someone who is gay. Smokes is a good descriptor of a cigarette since you smoke it.

@BijouPleasurette ever tried eating one? Or sticking it in a body orifice without setting it on fire? I quit playing with tobacco 38 years ago.

@BijouPleasurette Yup. Likely one of the smartest things I did was quit. One of the stupidest things was lighting up my first cigarette.

@BijouPleasurette I have never judged a smoker for smoking. I am not a raving anti smoker activist. I would rather stand in a crowd of smokers than a crowd of vapers. That stuff really bothers me.
